സ്റ്റോക്ക്‌ഹോം: ഭൗതിക ശാസ്ത്രത്തിനുളള നോബല്‍ പുരസ്‌കാരം രണ്ടുപേര്‍ക്ക്. പ്രപഞ്ചത്തില്‍ യഥേഷ്ടം കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ന്യൂട്രിനോ കണങ്ങള്‍ രണ്ട് വ്യത്യസ്ത രൂപങ്ങള്‍ കൈവരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയ ജപ്പാന്റെ തക്കാകി കജിത, കാനഡയുടെ ആര്‍തര്‍ ബി. മക്‌ഡൊണാള്‍ഡ് എന്നിവര്‍ക്കാണു പുരസ്‌കാരം. ഇവരുടെ കണ്ടുപിടുത്തം ദ്രവ്യത്തിന്റെ ആന്തരിക പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളെ കുറിച്ച് വെളിച്ചം വീശുന്നതും പ്രപഞ്ചത്തെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള ശാസ്ത്ര ലോകത്തിന്റെ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകളില്‍ നിര്‍ണായക സ്വാധീനം ചെലുത്തുന്നതാണെന്നും നോബല്‍ സമ്മാന സമിതി വിലയിരുത്തി. ന്യൂട്രിനോകളുടെ രൂപമാറ്റത്തെ രണ്ട് വ്യത്യസ്ത വഴികളിലൂടെയാണ് ഇരു ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞരും കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. ന്യൂട്രിനോകളെ തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നതിനുള്ള സൂപ്പര്‍ കമിയോകൊണ്ടെയിലൂടെ കടന്നു പോവുന്‌പോള്‍ ന്യൂട്രിനോകള്‍ രണ്ട് വ്യതസ്ത രൂപം കൈവരിക്കുന്നതായാണ് കാജിത കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. അതേസമയം, സൂര്യനില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ന്യൂട്രിനോകള്‍ ഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള സഞ്ചാരത്തിനിടെ അപ്രത്യക്ഷമാവുന്നില്ലെന്ന് മക്‌ഡൊണാള്‍ഡ് കണ്ടെത്തി. കാനഡയിലെ ക്വീന്‍സ് യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റിയില്‍ പ്രൊഫസറാണ് മക്‌ഡൊണാള്‍ഡ്. ടോക്യോവിലെ യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി പ്രൊഫസറും ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റിയൂട്ട് ഒഫ് കോമിക് റേ റിസര്‍ച്ച ഡയറക്ടറുമാണ് കാജിത.
