Kottayam, Jun 11, 2012: Stressing the need to promote materials science, C N R Rao, Scientific Advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said the country has not given much importance to this branch of science.
Inaugurating International Conference on Materials Science and Technology (ICMST-2012) here, Rao said "life science and materials science are the two branches of science. Materials Science concerns every aspect of life including new instrumentation and computers." Scientists and experts from India and abroad are participating in the three-day conference, concluding on June 14. Papers on nano-technology, atomic research, Plasma Polymer technology and optical thermal research would be submitted during the conference.
